Mobile-Tensaw River Delta to Host Alabama Bass Trail

May 28th, 2015

The Alabama Bass Trail Tournament (ABT) Series is returning to southwest Alabama as the 2015 Mobile-Tensaw River Delta Tournament will be held this Saturday, May 30, out of Live Oak Landing. The event was made possible through partnerships with the Mobile Sports Authority, the Saraland Chamber of Commerce, the City of Saraland, the North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce, and the Mobile Bay Convention & Visitors Bureau. The City of Saraland is serving as the host city for the event.

The 2015 ABT Series features five tournaments in each of the two divisions, North and South. Saturday’s tournament is the fourth of five South Division qualifying events leading up to the 2015 Alabama Bass Trail Team Championship at Wheeler Lake in northern Alabama, Oct. 9-10. The top 55 teams in each division will automatically qualify to compete in the October championship tournament.

Roughly 165 teams from throughout Alabama and surrounding states are expected to participate this weekend. Festivities kick off with registration beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday evening with the Captain’s Meeting at 7 p.m., both at the Saraland High School Auditorium. Members of the media are welcome at all events. Saturday morning’s “Blast-off” will be staged out of Live Oak Landing off Alabama 225 in Baldwin County beginning at 5:30 a.m.  Weigh-ins will begin at 1 PM on-site.

About the Alabama Bass Trail
The Alabama Bass Trail was formed in 2012 as a cooperative effort between Governor Robert Bentley’s office, the Alabama Tourism Department, the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and the Alabama Mountain Lakes Tourist Association. The ABT features 13 of Alabama’s premier bass-fishing lakes and stretches from the mountains of North Alabama south to the Mobile-Tensaw River Delta. With a mild climate, mineral rich reservoirs, affordable lodging and dining, as well as public access to boat ramps and marinas, Alabama is a year-round destination for anglers from across the country.
